Summary: The packaging supervisor is a critical link between the packaging team and upper management, responsible for ensuring that the packaging processes are efficient, safe, and meet the quality standards while managing resources and costs effectively. The primary responsibility of the packaging supervisor is to oversee and manage the packaging teams. This includes assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring that packaging goals are met.Duties and Responsibilities:Supervision of Packaging Department with direct experience in managing packaging personnel.Plans, schedules, and coordinates flow of work with other departments of the organization to expedite all processes.Analyze and resolve packaging related problems and improve packaging operations.Ability to lead department personnel and improve packaging processes as needed.Ensures packaging equipment is regularly maintained and documented.Inspects machines and equipment to ensure operational performance and optimum utilization.Ordering of packaging supplies, tools, and other materials.Maintains a clean and safe work environment.Supervises, assists, and trains all packaging personnel to achieve smooth and efficient packaging operations.Training of lead personnel and employees.Maintains clear communication with all staff and aids as needed.Reviews that each employee follows safe work practices and evaluates the need for such training.Takes corrective actions or disciplinary actions with the help of Human Resources when the deviation from GMP or Safe Work Practices is noticed.Maintains the labor tracker and ensures production meets or exceeds established standards.Obtains machine quotes.Other duties as assigned.Education:High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.Requirements:Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience supervising a team in a manufacturing environment.Experience in a nutraceutical or cosmetic industry is preferred.Knowledge and understanding of various manufacturing operations and cGMP is required.Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards to ensure that the packaging facility remains in compliance.Ability to communicate effectively to coordinate activities, provide feedback, and ensure that information is relayed accurately between packing workers, management, and other departments.Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead and motivate production personnel.Must be able to delegate tasks, provide guidance, and resolve conflicts.Ability to problem-solve and analyze unexpected issues in daily operations, making decisions, and implementing solutions quickly and effectively.Knowledge of safety awareness in packaging environments, as well as the ability to enforce and promote a safe working environment, is essential.
