As the Meetings and Events Manager, you will play a vital role in planning and executing meetings and events for the organization. Reporting to the Director of Associations Management, you will be responsible for managing event logistics, training team members, and ensuring successful event execution. Your role will involve handling annual programs with 50 to 1500 participants, supported by the event team. Your tasks will include event planning and management, client and vendor management, committee leadership, budget management, marketing and communications, and other required duties.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, customer service orientation, problem-solving ability, and knowledge of event planning best practices are essential for this role.
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in event planning and coordination, with progressively increasing responsibilities in event management.
- Demonstrated experience in leading event planning efforts, overseeing logistics, and providing on-site event management and support.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff in event planning or related roles.
- Proficiency in event management software, tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of other languages and international customs is an asset.
