What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Architect (Architect III – Hospitality & Commercial) position at Paradym Ventures?
Project Architect (Architect III – Hospitality & Commercial)
Paradym Ventures | Nashville, TN
We are looking for a Project Architect who wants to be fully engaged in the work. This role involves design, documentation, and direct client interaction from day one. You will help develop concepts, present ideas, and carry projects through construction as part of a small, high-performing team.
This is not a siloed role. You will be involved in design, documentation, coordination, and client communication throughout the life of a project. It is a well-rounded position with exposure to every phase, and a clear path toward leading multiple teams over time.
What You’ll Do
Lead project execution and coordination from programming through construction administration
Participate in the development of design concepts and presentation materials
Present design ideas internally during pinups and, when ready, directly to clients
Produce and oversee high-quality Revit documentation across all phases (SD through CD)
Coordinate with consultants including structural, MEP, civil, and specialty vendors
Translate conceptual direction into clear, buildable drawings
Participate in and lead client meetings as part of the project team
Manage one to two projects at a time, occasionally three depending on scale and phase
Assist in construction administration including RFIs, submittals, and Architect’s Field Reports
Mentor and guide junior team members
How We Work
We operate as a fully engaged, highly collaborative team. Everyone is involved in the full process. Design, documentation, coordination, and client interaction are shared across the team.
All team members communicate directly with clients and participate in meetings. Project Architects are expected to contribute to and lead conversations as part of the team.
We place a strong emphasis on storytelling. You are not just producing drawings. You need to be able to explain the work, defend decisions, and communicate ideas clearly. We do regular pinups internally, and team members present their work. As people develop, they present directly to clients. Some of our younger staff are already doing that.
This role provides a well-rounded experience across all phases of a project. Final project oversight and direction is supported by firm leadership.
Requirements
Licensed Architect (TN or ability to obtain via reciprocity)
8 years of commercial architecture experience
Demonstrated experience contributing to projects across multiple phases
Strong Revit proficiency
Experience coordinating with full consultant teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Strong communication skills, both visual and verbal
Preferred Experience
Hospitality experience including hotel and restaurant projects
Mixed-use or urban commercial work
Experience working in a small, fast-paced team environment
Growth Path
This role is intended to grow into a Senior Architect position. That next step involves leading multiple teams, mentoring staff, and taking a larger role in overall project delivery.
Compensation
Base Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 depending on experience
Straight overtime paid for all hours over 40
Typical workload averages around 45 hours per week
Total annual compensation typically ranges from $105,000 – $120,000
