What you’ll do
- Greet and welcome guests with enthusiasm, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently to optimize guest flow.
- Communicate effectively with guests regarding wait times and special requests.
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Handle phone inquiries with professionalism, providing information about menu offerings and specials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area.
- Assist in managing guest relations to resolve any concerns promptly and courteously.
- Support the overall team in delivering an exceptional dining experience.
Basic qualifications
- Previous host/host or restaurant experience is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in food service or hospitality environments.
- Knowledge of guest services principles and practices.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient phone etiquette for handling inquiries and reservations.
