Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Animal Care & Handling

• Safely move and handle dogs of all sizes and breeds, including dogs weighing 100 lbs or more, on leash between kennels, play yards, and front desk areas.
• Supervise group play yards, actively monitoring dog behavior to maintain a safe environment.
• Intervene appropriately in dog scuffles or altercations using approved tools and techniques provided by the facility.
• Refill water containers and ensure doggy droppings are cleaned in a timely manner.

Feeding & Kennel Setup

• Prepare and serve meals according to instructions, including lifting and handling dog food bags weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Set up kennels with bedding, bowls, and personal belongings, requiring repeated bending and lifting.

Cleaning & Sanitation

• Clean and sanitize kennels by scrubbing floors and walls, sweeping, and using approved cleaning chemicals.
• Wash dishes and sanitize food and water bowls.
• Perform laundry duties, including lifting and transporting full laundry baskets and loading/unloading machines.
• Clean play yards and individual yards by picking up waste, spraying turf and concrete surfaces, and resetting play equipment.
• Empty, flip, and reposition play structures and mini pools, some of which may be filled with water.
• Warehouse upkeep including moping, sweeping and maintaining cleanliness of the overall environment.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
• Ability to safely manage large, strong dogs that may jump or pull on leash.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals (PPE provided)
• Exposure to loud, continuous barking and animal-related allergens

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or grooming setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling skills is preferred.
• Experience with veterinary procedures or as a veterinary technician/assistant is a strong plus.
• Skills in pet grooming, pet sitting, and animal restraint are highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of pet care principles including animal behavior, health monitoring, and safety protocols.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking.

Hours

We have both morning and evening shifts available.

Our morning shifts are 6:30am-11am during the week and 7am-11am on the weekends.

Evening shift is 3pm-7pm every day.

The ideal candidate would be able to work 4-5 days a week on either the morning or evening shift. If your availability is flexible and you can work both shifts, that's a plus!

Weekends and some holidays required.
