Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine the correct installation methods for various flooring types.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing subfloors using hand tools and power tools to ensure a smooth foundation for flooring installation.
- Install a variety of flooring materials including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy coatings, carpets, and laminate with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform floor refinishing tasks such as sanding, buffing, sealing, and water damage restoration to restore floors to their original condition or improve their appearance.
- Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project scope, measure materials needed, and ensure proper material handling and storage.
- Follow safety protocols and building installation safety compliance standards to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites.
- Complete fixture installation, drywall finishing, caulking, trim carpentry, and painting as part of comprehensive remodeling or restoration projects.
- Operate hand tools and power tools efficiently while maintaining equipment safety standards during all phases of installation and restoration work.
- Assist in the interpretation of technical schematics related to flooring layouts or building plans to ensure precise implementation.
- Support water damage restoration efforts by assessing damage extent and executing appropriate repair techniques in line with industry standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in flooring installation across multiple materials such as hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy floors, carpets, and laminate.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately.
- Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and building codes related to flooring installation.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes including measuring materials required for various projects.
- Hands-on experience with drywall finishing, caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, remodeling projects, and floor care maintenance.
- Knowledge of water damage restoration techniques along with general restoration industry experience is highly desirable.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as chisels or hammers as well as power tools like saws or drills for precise work execution.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical instructions clearly while adhering to project timelines.
