We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our team. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data sets and developing models to help our organization optimize decision-making processes and improve business performance. In this role on our team supporting a Department of Defense (DoD) client, you’ll use your data science, machine learning, and data visualization expertise to create real-world impact. Use tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to advise your clients as they make informed decisions. You’ll develop rich visualizations to convey complex multi-dimensional information. Ultimately, you’ll provide a deep understanding of the data, what it all means, and how it can be used.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and perform, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining, with both structured and unstructured data sources, and interpret complex data sets to help drive strategic decision-making
- Develop predictive models and other statistical approaches to drive increased accuracy and efficiency across various business functions.
- Conduct research to identify trends and patterns and provide actionable recommendations based on these insights
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and inform business strategies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in Data Science
- 5 years of experience developing complex visualizations and assessing visualization quality and information density with business intelligence tools, such as JMP Pro, Qlik or Tableau
- 5 years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis, such as R, Python, SQL, or NoSQL
- Systems Engineering experience desirable
- Experience in working with large and complex data structures
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working in cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis
- Ability to articulate workflows, processes, and technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Must possess an active secret security clearance
- US Citizen
Knowledge Required of Position:
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using statistical software JMP
· Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes or general program management concepts relating to cost and schedule
· Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
