Job Summary
As a Barista, our commitment is to create smiles by delivering exceptional experiences. When you work with us, you have an opportunity to impact our patients, visitors, guests and other employees. Whether providing compassionate customer service that eases the anxiety of a patient and their family, creating a memorable experience for a guest by being their personal Barista in our coffee-cafe shop or putting a smile on every face, this will be the main component of being part of our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ability to adapt to our company’s patients and visitors by making them feel at home
· Must fit with Sterling Surgical Hospitals and Paradigm Health Systems culture
· Must possess optimism and genuinely look for positive values on a day-to-day basis
· Must have previous customer service/Barista experience and cash handling experience
· Knowledge of core products and processes in a coffee-cafe shop, including ordering, inventory and vendor relationships
· Attention to cleanliness, order and detail in maintaining an environment of excellence
· Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence for orders from our patients, visitors and employees
· Ability to understand rates applicable to products served
· Ability to effectively plan, set priorities, and manage many projects simultaneously while working under pressure when busy
· Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, equipment manuals, training materials, and corporate communications
· The working conditions and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions as a Barista
· Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; walk; handle or manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Requirements:
- At least two years’ experience as a Barista or similar position
- Ability to adapt to a face pace environment especially in the mornings
- Possess the ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge of excellent values
- Knowledge in avoiding cross-contamination of food and beverage products
- Strong customer service/solutions focus
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
