ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
Position Summary
Paradigm Design is seeking to hire two part-time Accounting Specialists to support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions. These roles will be cross-trained to provide flexibility and coverage across key accounting processes. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing both transactional accounting tasks and recurring deadlines with accuracy. Flexible scheduling is available.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and issue client invoices
- Generate and distribute client statements
- Support project-based billing processes
- Record incoming payments and deposits
- Enter EFT deposit transactions and apply payments to appropriate accounts
- Reconcile accounts receivable balances and maintain AR aging reports
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on past-due invoices
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding billing and payment status
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Set up and maintain vendor records
- Enter and code vendor invoices
- Process weekly/bi-weekly vendor and consultant payments
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Process employee expense reports
- Manage company credit card transactions
- Enter EFT and positive pay transactions
Payroll & General Accounting Support
- Process payroll on a regular schedule
- Review and validate employee timesheets
- Submit payroll tax deposits and filings
- Manage 401(k) and HSA contribution uploads
- Maintain payroll records and reporting
- Assist with month-end close activities related to AR, AP, and payroll
- Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation
Qualifications
- 2 years of accounting experience (AR, AP, payroll, or general accounting)
- Experience with Deltek Ajera preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines and recurring processes independently
- Comfortable communicating with vendors and clients
- Experience with accounting systems and Excel
