Senior Merchandiser

Summary

As the Senior Merchandiser for Bedding, you will be the strategic leader of Parachute’s largest and most iconic category. You will own the category’s merchandising strategy, assortment architecture, and business performance—driving innovation, profitability, and brand relevance. This role requires strong strategic and analytical thinking, an exceptional eye for product, and deep knowledge of the bedding and textiles market.

Reports to: Vice President of Merchandising 

Location: Culver City, CA — in office M-TH

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and execute the seasonal merchandising strategy for the bedding category, including line architecture, SKU planning, and product lifecycle management. Optimizing the assortment for profitable growth.
• Partner with the VP of Merchandising to define and evolve the category roadmap in alignment with brand vision, customer needs, and business goals.
• Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle—from ideation and line planning to product launch and in-season management.
• Collaborate with Design and Product Development teams to brief new product concepts informed by market trends, consumer insights, and business analytics.
• Serve as the category expert, analyzing sales data, competitive sets, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and margin improvement.
• Partner with Planning to develop forecasts, track category performance, and drive inventory optimization and profitability.
• Work cross-functionally with E-commerce, Marketing, and Retail teams to shape go-to-market strategies and ensure consistent, compelling product storytelling.
• Ensure alignment with cross-functional teams and manage timelines to support seasonal calendars and key product milestones.
• Prepare and present seasonal hindsight reports and strategic line reviews to senior leadership.
• Manage and develop the Associate Merchandiser, providing leadership, guidance, and development opportunities to support team growth and operational excellence.

Who You Are:

• 6–8 years of merchandising experience in the retail industry.
• Proven people management experience, including coaching, delegation, and performance development.
• Strategic thinker with deep customer and category insights.
• Product obsessed.
• Exceptional analytical skills and data driven decision making skills.
• Proven track record of developing high-performing assortments and achieving category growth.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Parachute takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. The estimated pay range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000.
