Job Summary
Position Overview Maintenance technicians will work independently and with other Facilities Services and Operations Group personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of facilities equipment, and ensure maximum building, cleanliness, efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of PLN.
Requirements / Qualifications
Duties Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities depending upon area of assignment including performing basic trade activities such as electrical, plumbing and carpentry work. Interacts professionally with the teachers, staff and clients; maintains effective working relationships and works in cooperation with the Operations team to effectively meet departmental objectives. Responsible for the maintenance of the facilities and equipment, including work pertaining to buildings and grounds upkeep, utilities and security/fire alarms. Maintains minor maintenance on facilities mechanical and electrical systems while working in concert with contracted vendors for heavy repairs of same.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Minimum two years of skilled or semi-skilled facility repair or handy person maintenance experience. Must be flexible and work well with people. Participates in and supports overall agency compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and operational standards. Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish are required, and we celebrate linguistic diversity, valuing the unique perspectives and strengths that multilingual team members bring to our organization. Utilizes Microsoft Office Suite and other business systems to perform daily administrative functions, including data entry, document management, and professional correspondence. Travel Requirements: 100% within Los Angeles County requiring a valid driver's license (to drive a company vehicle).
