Software Controls Engineer

PAR Systems is a world leader in the design and development of cutting-edge automation and control systems for Aerospace, Life Science, and Nuclear markets. We are seeking an Advanced Software and Controls Engineer who can use their past experience to create intuitive user interfaces and flexible software architectures for first-of-a-kind, large-scale machines.

We offer market competitive pay and benefits based upon the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Our starting rate of pay for this salaried position is targeted at $90,000 - $110,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Strong background in modern web and service technologies, including TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Vue, Angular, Node.js, or similar frameworks
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, testing strategies, and CI/CD practices
• Experience designing and implementing reliable, maintainable, and scalable services in production environments
• Comfortable collaborating closely with electrical, controls, and systems engineers to integrate software with large-scale industrial machines and equipment
• Ability to participate in system bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting activities as needed
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
• Preferred (not required)
• Background in industrial automation (PLC, CNC, motion control systems)
• Experience with robotics, vision systems, or industrial sensors/devices
• Exposure to real-time systems, distributed systems, or high-reliability software environments
• Experience applying AI/ML to real-world engineering problems (e.g., anomaly detection, optimization, computer vision, predictive maintenance)
• U.S. Person
