AP Specialist

The Opportunity

  • Accounts Payable Specialist in a growth-oriented energy company
  • Exposure to full cycle Accounts Payable processes
  • Gain exposure to the Procurement and Accounting teams as well as our multi-state operations that stretch from Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Washington, and Hawaii
  • You will have the opportunity to learn and grow into new areas such as SAP and Vendor Invoices Management (VIM)
  • Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, this position will be responsible for ensuring payable transactions are processed in accordance with corporate policy, internal controls, and/or external regulatory reporting requirements

Key activities include:

  • Ensure accurate and timeliness of transactions.
  • Provide accounts payable support across all of Par's scope operations.
  • Provide solutions for payment issues and facilitate procurement related solutions.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Support process improvement initiatives related to accounts payable functions.
  • Assist with daily and month end functions, related to accounts payable.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to the company's policy and procedures.
  • Complete special projects, when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Additional qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant AP experience or shared service experience required
  • Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability and willingness to learn industry-specific terminology and processes required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail required
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word; experience working with complex spreadsheets is preferred
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments required
