Position Responsibilities
Charge Entry Specialist
- Enter patient charges accurately and efficiently.
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients.
- Process insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner.
- Utilize insurance portals to review claim status.
- Research and resolve claim denials, taking appropriate corrective action.
- Maintain accurate documentation within patient accounts.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely claim submission and reimbursement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 years of medical billing experience.
- Experience with charge entry, accounts receivable follow-up, payment posting, or a combination of these functions preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance verification claims processing, and denial management.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Preferred
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding concepts.
Technical Skills
- Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with electronic medical billing software and practice management systems.
- Familiarity with insurance carrier websites and electronic clearinghouses.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
