The Foundation Driller performs operation of large rotary drill rigs utilizing earth augers, rock augers, and core barrels with additional specialized tooling as projects require. Drilling conditions could be either dry or under water / unstable conditions.

What You'll Do
About this role:
The Foundation Driller performs operation of large rotary drill rigs utilizing earth augers, rock augers, and core barrels with additional specialized tooling as projects require. Drilling conditions could be either dry or under water / unstable conditions.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to and follow all safety regulations.
- Avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, equipment, or falling objects.
- Locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work.
- Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
- Coordinate machine actions with other activities, position or move loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members
- Perform preventative maintenance as required to ensure safe and continual service of crane.
- Compliance with company policy, safety guidelines and procedures that pertain to the drill operator's job.
- Responsible for creating an environment fostering open communications concerning safety issues.
- Participates in safety meetings and other safety programs.
- Follow safety regulations.
- Follow instructions and meet set standards.
- Judge distances and slopes accurately.
- Make decisions based on verifiable standards.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and crouch and use hands, arms, and legs fully.
- Pass construction equipment operator qualification testing/observation.
- CDL not required but preferred.
Required:
- High School Diploma preferred
- Five years verifiable and relevant experience in similar drill rigs and conditions
- Proficiency in drilling in unstable and/or wet conditions utilizing polymer slurry
- Proficient in handling, setting, and extracting temporary casing strings
- Proficient in rock removal utilizing conventional rock augers and core barrels at necessary harvest rates. Use of downhole hole hammers not required but preferred
- While operating equipment, communicate with others using verbal and non-verbal hand signals
- Performs other tasks as needed
- Prioritize safety at all times, following company and industry safety guidelines and protocols.
