What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Financial Analyst position at Papa Johns?
Prepares financial analyses and research in such areas as sales and expense trending, actual vs. budget analysis, future revenues and expenditures, cost and labor analysis and market performance reviews. Support and take part in the budgeting and forecasting. Assist team with budget creation and various monthly P&L analysis. Assist with special projects and requests.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)
• Developing financial models, diagnostic tools, or even new analytical methods to identify trends, interpret results, and optimize profit – both at the restaurant and corporate level.
• Reporting - Preparation & Distribution: profit/loss, account analysis, market trends, food cost, sales trends and other miscellaneous financial reports and analysis.
• Assist in the annual budget process and monitor changes throughout the year (acquisitions, new stores, etc.).
• Provide P&L variance analysis versus prior periods / forecasts / budgets as insights will be used in preparation of monthly / quarterly business reviews and Board of Director meeting materials.
• Prepare and present monthly analysis to senior management and other stakeholders in a clear, visual manner which identifies key performance drivers to drive consensus and meaningful action.
• Assist with special ad hoc requests and projects for various teams, including but not limited to bonus program modeling, fulfillment modeling and other miscellaneous account / P&L line-item analysis.
• Utilizing multiple sources of data to extract, analyze, and report on business drivers including Sales, restaurant performance on certain key measures, and G&A spend, presents findings, and makes their own recommendations on next steps.
• Serve as a financial contact for Operations Leadership
Education, Experience & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting
• 4-6 years' experience required.
Functional Skills
• Working knowledge of accounting/financial theory and practice
• Experience in budget creation.
• Demonstrated research skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient PC skills and experience with financial applications (Excel, PowerPoint Hyperion, SQL, Tableau, and BigQuery and BI)
• Strong organizational and project management skills
