Responsibilities
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles including vans, box trucks, or personal vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Load, unload, and secure food orders using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary
- Follow designated routes accurately while adhering to traffic regulations to ensure timely deliveries
- Communicate effectively with customers upon delivery, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the delivery vehicle at all times, performing routine inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Use mobile devices or GPS systems to navigate routes efficiently and update delivery statuses in real-time
- Assist with warehouse operations when needed, including moving inventory, stacking supplies, or operating material handling equipment
Experience
- Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially with courier or van driving roles involving route driving and heavy lifting
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus
- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles or commercial trucks such as box trucks or cargo vans
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques for moving heavy items or pallets
- Ability to adhere strictly to DOT regulations regarding weight handling in the workplace and safe driving practices
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment like pallet jacks safely when loading or unloading deliveries
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional communication style
