Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Purpose
The Director of Facilities is responsible for the enterprise ownership of PANTHERx Rare facilities and their operations, including day-to-day building management, facilities staff, vendor relationships, and capital projects across the organization. This role serves as the internal owner for major construction initiatives, including the development of new pharmacy facilities or headquarters as applicable, and is accountable for delivering safe, compliant, and operationally ready facilities that support our growth and patient first mission. Further, this role owns the physical security strategy and in addition will collaborate with our Cyber Security team to ensure our patient financial data, personal information, and all company assets are secured.
Responsibilities
Facilities and Operations Leadership
- Leads and manages facilities staff across all PANTHERx locations.
- Oversees building systems, preventative and ongoing maintenance programs, and vendor performance.
- Ensures facilities operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with any state and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively manages all relationshisp with landlords and vendors.
Capital Planning and Construction
- Owns facilities operating budgets (OPEX) and capital planning (CAPEX).
- Serves as internal owner for construction, renovation and building expansion projects.
- Internal owner of managing external contractors, architects, engineers and specialty vendors.
- Ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and ready for inspection, licensure, and launch.
Regulatory and Operational Readiness
- Ensures continued readiness for inspections, licensure, and pharmacy launches.
- Partners with compliance, pharmacy teams, and operations to support regulated environments.
Security and Risk Management
- Leads and manages the Corporate Physical Security function.
- Partners and collaborates with Cyber Security team to coordinate physical and digital security controls.
- Supports asset protection, access control, and incident response planning.
- Key contributor to PantherX Business Continuity plan.
Cross Functional Partnership
- Partners with Operations, Finance, IT, Compliance and HR to support all facility needs and projects.
- Collaborates with HR to ensure comprehensive health and safety programs are implemented and maintained.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities or related discipline.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of facilities leadership experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated environments.
- Proven experience leading capital projects and construction programs.
- Experience with budget planning.
- Strong vendor and contractor management capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment, computers, phones, and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
Physical Demands
This role requires regular sitting, seeing, talking, and hearing. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching may be required. Visual acuity is necessary for reading and working with data on-screen for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
