Job Summary
Panther Creek Stables is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Full Time Barn Manager and English and/or Western Riding Instructor. Must be a strong rider with advanced skills and abilities related to Equine Education, Equine First-Aid, Routine Care, Emergencies, and Signs of Distress.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Scheduling and Training Barn Staff
- Providing Regular Horse Feeding Support
- Monitoring the Equine Nutrition Program
- Teaching Private or Group Riding Lessons as Schedule Allows
- Maintain Equine Record Keeping
- Prepare and Plan Lessons in Accordance with the Student's Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Organize and Participate in Horse Shows and Events
Experience
- Ability to clearly communicate/work with diverse groups of people and professionals such as other staff, veterinarians, farriers, trainers, clients, and the general public.
- Ability, skill set, and knowledge of running all aspects of an Equestrian Facility.
- Self-motivated and independent worker with appreciation for being a part of a team.
- Highly organized and able to organize others with the ability to manage others.
- Demonstrates knowledge, skills and abilities related to equine education, equine first aid, routine care, emergencies, and signs of distress.
- Diverse experience caring for a variety of horses in a herd greater than 10.
- Knowledge of the benefits of riding and other equine assisted activities as well as other alternative activities and therapies.
- Be available for emergency calls on the on-call schedule, and stay abreast of emergencies when able.
- A strong rider
- A strong background in various styles and an understanding of horse behavior and training.
- Good time management and planning skills.
- Be able to effectively communicate instructions and provide constructive feedback.
Requirements/Preferred
- Maintain CPR & First Aid Certification
- Ability to drive a manual truck and haul bumper pull and/or gooseneck trailers
- Certifications from organizations such as BHS, ARIA, and CHA can be beneficial for employment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45, $55,000.00 per year
