Purpose of Position
We are seeking a private equity investment professional on the US Secondaries Investment Team, based in SF or NY, who would report to a Partner and execute private equity secondary deals with senior members of the team. Investment opportunities will include a focus on GP-led deals, such as single company secondary transactions across the US PE buyout universe that require a similar level of due diligence as direct buyout or co-investment opportunities. The individual will also execute on traditional LP stake transactions and will be able to leverage Pantheon’s longstanding relationships across the Primary and Co-investment platforms. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:
- Executing the diligence and financial modelling of private equity secondary investment opportunities including, managing the flow of diligence materials received, leading diligence meetings, supporting transaction due diligence, preparing investment memos, and presenting the opportunity to the Secondary Investment Committee;
- Coordinating closely with senior team members on deal negotiations and deal completion;
- Monitoring the evolution and performance of completed transactions as well as selected brand-name buyout funds across the US PE market;
- Supporting other secondaries business development and origination initiatives and interfacing with Clients.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and Pantheon policy
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Prior financial analysis and valuation modelling experience required, preferably with an investment firm (PE or equities);
- Ability to assess and synthesize merits / risks of an investment in an insightful way and to develop and execute on an appropriate diligence plan to address key concerns;
- Ability to work in a collaborative, global team, including virtually across physical office locations (e.g., SF to NY or London) and across the Pantheon platform (e.g., Primaries, Co-investment, Private Credit, Infrastructure);
- Ability to work to tight, transaction-driven deal deadlines with minimum supervision and to manage workloads efficiently;
- Outstanding verbal and quantitative problem solving and communication skills, demonstrated via mastery of Excel and PowerPoint (financial modelling and memos), and engagement with key stakeholders (GPs, intermediaries, portfolio company operator executives, current and prospective Clients, and senior members across the Pantheon platform);
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
This role is paying in the region of $115,000 - $130,000 per annum. Alongside Pantheon's wider employment benefits.
