What You'll Do
As a first level manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership for the Requirements Management team as well as providing an interface between the team and the Pantex enterprise. This role will require the development of a comprehensive plan coordinating resources at multiple levels.
On a group level, as the manager of the Requirements Management team, you will lead, coordinate, and monitor the group’s resources to support requests from other enterprise members. This support, primarily providing documentation, has costing, scheduling, and technical elements that need to be monitored and communicated to the group. Communicating feedback on the team’s impact with the enterprise will be important in maintaining team engagement. Understanding mission deliverables and communicating those to the team will be part of the focus on the team environment. The development of teamwork and fostering collaboration amongst team members will require strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will also actively participate in goal setting for the group, aligning with the Pantex mission. You will be responsible for planning, assigning, and distributing work amongst the team in a balanced fashion. There will be a need to learn the basics of IBM rational DOORS NG and how it relates to the teams mission to deliver value to the enterprise.
On a teammate / direct report level, you will be responsible for creating an environment that will foster growth both within the team as well as on an individual level. You will be responsible for helping establish clear goals and training paths. Employee development will be focused on both improving skills relevant to the immediate job as well as incorporating training for future opportunities within the group. As a leader, you will provide direction and guidance on each teammate’s contribution to the Pantex mission. This will all be done with maintaining the Pantex focus on safety.
On an enterprise level, you will be responsible for interfacing with other enterprise members and coordinating activities the contribute to a focused effort at Pantex. Acting as a liaison will require communicating group needs to management and providing schedule updates. Updates to progress on mission deliverables will be needed amongst various members of the enterprise. Communicating these through clear metrics and a focus on continuous improvement on these metrics will be important to this effort.

- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET with at least 7 years of relevant experience

DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.
