What You'll Do
Responsible for organizing, planning, managing, and directing the support functions of an assigned nuclear and/or explosive facilities to ensure successful and timely completion of assigned missions in accordance with Government and Company directives. This includes management and administrative duties required to maintain the facility's safety envelope and work environment for assigned hazardous facilities to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Reviews data and provides technical input concerning facility or equipment modifications, specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Coordinates with plant engineers in reviewing design criteria to ensure the facility modification/upgrade meets safety function(s) and is in compliance with explosive and/or nuclear operation technical safety requirements. Performs inspections of post construction, installation acceptance documents, and critical maintenance/surveillance documentation to ensure conformance with approved safety analysis, ensuring contractual requirements for the moderate (Nuclear and explosive) hazard facilities are met prior to commencing operations. In the event of an emergency, takes initial mitigating actions, and for other non-emergency anomalies, performs initial evaluations and assessments to ensure proper corrective actions are identified and implemented.

In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science and 4 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.
