We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys in a busy family law practice. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and experience handling sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and file family law pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
- Assist attorneys with divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and post decree matters
- Manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and court filings (including e-filing)
- Prepare financial disclosures, discovery responses, and trial binders
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and third parties in a professional manner
- Conduct legal research as needed
- Maintain accurate and organized case management systems
- Assist with trial preparation, mediations, and hearings
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent education/experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in family law preferred
- Knowledge of family law procedures, court rules, and filing requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with legal software, Microsoft Office, and case management systems
- Ability to handle confidential and emotionally sensitive information with discretion
Preferred Skills
- Experience with e-filing systems and local court procedures
- Familiarity with financial documents (income/expense declarations, asset division)
- Trial or litigation support experience
