The Position:
The Technician Lead is responsible for leading the assigned Provider’s clinic/specialty clinic on a day-to-day basis and works directly with the Clinical Operations Manager for that site. In this role the Lead Technician will be assigned to assist one, or more, specific physician(s), and may be assigned as the Lead Technician of a specific site at any time. Assignment to provider(s)/site as Lead Technician is at the discretion of the site’s Clinical Operations Manager and is subject to change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete competency in all areas of Ophthalmic Technician Job Description
- Coordinate with Patient Services Coordinator and Lead Patient Services Coordinator in the facilitation of clinic administrative support functions.
- Openly support and consistently communicate the mission of the organization and assist with staff training and cross coverage for the clinical department.
- Able to work up and scribe proficiently in the assigned clinic/specialty
- Coordination with PSC on administrative travel needs for assigned provider(s) relative to the satellite clinic to which they will be travelling.
- Able to meet and maintain work up timing benchmarks for clinical efficiency.
- Responsible for monitoring and adjusting the clinic flow to ensure operational efficiency.
- Provide accurate patient education
- Will assist the clinic staff in minor procedures as needed.
- Serve as the patient advocate to ensure optimal patient care.
- Interface with patients and their families to ensure care is consistent with their expectations.
- Serve as a role model to staff by responding positively to change while supporting colleagues throughout the change process; gives and welcomes feedback.
- Ability to perform as a team leader when assigned, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and maximizing positive workflow.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and/or when working with a difficult patient.
- Provide accurate patient education, communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and staff to facilitate the achievement of high levels of customer service.
- Act as facilitator for site’s Clinical Operations Manager in regards to patient concerns or complaints.
- Trains new staff as needed.
- Promotes clinical flow and technologies to on sight visitors.
- Acts as the subject matter expert of Ophthalmology and has the ability to engage in new technology and current practices to meet the changing needs of the ophthalmic surgical patient.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- An active COA, COT or COMT.
- Knowledge of the clinic's computerized EHR program is required.
- Knowledge of coding and billing in a medical setting.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to raise hands and arms to shoulder level without restriction, pain, or discomfort.
- Ability to perform extended use of phones and computer terminals, as well as diagnostic equipment without pain or discomfort.
Additional Job Details:
- This is a Full-Time Position at our Arapahoe location (4745 Arapahoe Ave Ste 100 Boulder, CO)
- Compensation for this role is $23.16-39.68 based on demonstrated experience/certification.
