Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in young children.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being through attentive child supervision and classroom management.
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning through play-based instruction.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to build strong partnerships.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom adhering to health and safety standards, including proper sanitation practices.
- Follow mandated reporting laws by promptly reporting any concerns related to child abuse or neglect.
- Incorporate child development instruction techniques and adapt activities to meet the individual needs of children, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and childcare policies related to early childhood education and daycare operations.
- Administer basic first aid or pediatric first aid when necessary, demonstrating preparedness for emergencies.
- Support children’s emotional regulation and behavior management through positive guidance strategies.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a daycare center, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar caregiving roles is highly valued.
- Demonstrated classroom experience managing groups of young children in educational settings or daycare environments.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience implementing child development instruction techniques.
- Familiarity with early childhood education best practices, including toddler care and infant care.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (Child & Pediatric First Aid) is required or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and teamwork within a childcare setting.
- Ability to follow safety protocols, including mandated reporting laws and behavior management strategies.
