Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Program Chair for Medical Assisting located in Hallsville, TX. The Program Chair will oversee the development, implementation, and administration of the Medical Assisting program. Responsibilities include curriculum planning, faculty recruitment and supervision, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, mentoring students, and monitoring student performance. The Program Chair will collaborate with faculty and other stakeholders to maintain and enhance program excellence and growth. Administrative duties such as managing the program budget and participating in institutional committees are also part of the role.
Qualifications
- Expertise in medical assisting with core skills in curriculum development, program coordination, and accreditation compliance.
- Proficiency in student mentoring, academic advising, and performance evaluation for medical assisting students.
- Experience in faculty supervision, team leadership, and collaboration with internal and external program stakeholders.
- Competence in managing budgets, planning, and contributing to institutional committees.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field (Master’s degree preferred) and current certification in medical assisting or healthcare-related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in higher education is preferred, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems considered a plus.
