Job Overview
Pannell Co is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Safety Technician to support our growing safety team. This role is designed to strengthen field-level safety engagement and improve consistency across crews through hands-on support, coaching, and technology-driven safety processes.
The Safety Technician will work alongside operations teams in the field, helping bridge the gap between day-to-day operations and company safety systems. The ideal candidate will be someone who can build trust with crews, communicate effectively with leadership, and ensure safety expectations are being followed consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular field visits to support crews and reinforce safe work practices
- Assist with implementation of company safety programs, procedures, and initiatives
- Utilize technology platforms for safety tracking, reporting, inspections, and documentation
- Support incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective action follow-up
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documentation
- Partner with operations leaders to improve accountability and consistency across teams
- Provide coaching and guidance to employees on safe work practices
- Help identify trends and recommend proactive solutions to reduce risk
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience in vegetation management, utility line clearance, tree trimming, or related field operations
- Strong understanding of field crew environments and operational safety risks
- Comfortable using technology, mobile apps, systems, and reporting tools
- Strong communication skills with both field employees and leadership teams
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field job sites
Preferred:
- Safety certifications (OSHA, CPR/First Aid, ISA, TCIA, etc.)
- Experience in utility contractor or right-of-way operations
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
