Responsibilities
- Welcome patients in the dental office.
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups.
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed.
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations.
- Efficiently perform 4-handed dentistry.
- Properly document dental dentition (treatment planning).
- Comfortable taking digital diagnostic x-rays.
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Keep the dental operatories clean and well-stocked.
Must have's to be successful
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks in a timely and independent manner.
- Ability to work cooperatively with management, staff, and patients.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Computer skills and knowledge in Electronic Health Records.
- Strong communication skills to accurately deliver necessary information to dentists, patient, parent/guardian and other staff

- Well-organized and reliable.
- Ability to assist with preventive, therapeutic and surgical clinical procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Dental Certification: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certificate, OR Graduate from a formal accredited dental assisting school in accordance with Florida Administrative Code Rule: 64B5-16.002
- Must have reliable transportation
