Panhandle Oilfield Services is seeking an experienced Rigger to support crane and lifting operations in the field. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate lifts while working closely with Crane Operators and field crews.
The Rigger is responsible for preparing, attaching, guiding, and signaling loads during lifting operations. This role requires hands-on experience with rigging equipment, strong situational awareness, and a commitment to safety in demanding oilfield and construction environments.
- Select, inspect, and properly use rigging equipment including slings, chains, chokers, shackles, and other lifting devices
- Secure loads for lifting and ensure proper balance and weight distribution
- Communicate clearly with Crane Operators using standard hand signals and radio communication
- Guide suspended loads safely into position while maintaining awareness of personnel, equipment, and surroundings
- Assist with setup and tear-down of crane and lifting operations
- Follow all OSHA, company, and customer safety policies and procedures
- Identify and immediately report hazards, incidents, and near-misses
- Previous experience as a Rigger is required
- Experience in oilfield, construction, or industrial lifting environments
- Knowledge of load charts, rigging capacities, and lifting angles
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Class A CDL strongly preferred
- Preferred: NCCCO or NCCER Rigger Certification (Level 1 or higher)
- Required: Must meet OSHA “Qualified Rigger” requirements (training or certification may be provided if needed)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, and work at heights
- Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions
- Extended hours, weekends, and travel may be required based on project needs
- Safety-sensitive position subject to applicable drug and alcohol testing
