Panhandle Health District is seeking a WIC Customer Service Representative 2 to join our Nutrition Services team in Kootenai County. This 36-hour-per-week position will support WIC services at our Hayden and/or Post Falls clinic locations. The Customer Service Representative 2 (CSR2) plays a key role in supporting local families through the WIC program. In this position, you will provide client-centered support by maintaining accurate records, sharing health and community resource information, and guiding participants through available services. You will also offer basic nutrition education informed by growth measurements and lab results. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach when working with diverse populations. As part of the Nutrition Services team, you will contribute to improving community health through outreach, education, and ongoing learning.
Qualifications and Proficiencies:
- 1-year customer service experience (preferred)
- Skilled in written and oral communications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, MS Teams, and Excel.
- Comfortable learning new computer systems such as WISPr, etc
- Experience with conducting phone and face-to-face interactions
- Previous participation in the WIC program or experience breastfeeding is a plus
- Complete the online WIC training within six (6) months of employment
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training opportunities related to WIC, nutrition, and public health
- Able to develop efficiency and time management practices to adhere to scheduling expectations and guidelines to optimize work balance
- Valid driver’s license (Idaho or Washington) or ability to obtain one if relocating, and ability to travel locally
- National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (IS)100, 700 within one (1) month of employment
Physical Requirements:
Due to the need for all Health Department personnel to respond to public health emergencies, the employee must be assessed for his/her ability to meet the physical demands of performing the following activities:
- Engage in the following movements: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, and writing and repetitive motions.
- To move objects, exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly.
- Hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
- Visual ability must be sufficient to read typewritten documents, computer screens, and drive a car
