What are the responsibilities and job description for the ALE Teacher /Director/ Peewee Basketball Coach position at Pangburn School District?
SUMMARY
To provide supervision of facility, staff and curriculum in the alternative learning program. Works with staff to provide high quality instructional and support services for K-12 students; provides administrative services; and monitors the educational program. This position also includes coaching in the 5th and 6th grade boy’s peewee basketball program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Current teaching license
•Must complete the Coach Safely Course
•Must Attend Required Summer Conference
Preferred Qualifications:
•Pass the Praxis for Content 5511(Fundamental Subjects)
•Teaching Experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (other duties may be assigned)
•To create a school culture that promotes the ongoing improvement of learning and teaching for students and staff
•To create a caring and safe atmosphere
•To create a high standard for students while recognizing the abilities and disabilities of each student as well as considering the age of each student.
•To collaborate with co-teachers.
•Willing to accept constructive criticism from administration.
•Attend mandatory teacher meetings and parent/teacher conferences
•Establish a positive relationship with parents
•Willing to participate in some extracurricular activities
•Direct supervision of students
•Monitor, assist, and evaluate effective instruction and assessment practices.
•Establish clear standards for student behavior and manage student correction in a respectful and caring manner, in compliance with district policy and state law.
•Oversee, implement, and adhere to Alternative Learning Experience laws, policies, and procedures.
•Act as academic liaison between subject teacher and ALE students
•Creating and maintaining all required ALE records.
