What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Foreman position at Panel Masters Inc.?
- Capacity for the work, including:
o Lifting, carrying, Pushing, and pulling as the job demands and OSHA allows
o Working with heights (scaffolds, ladders, powered lifts, etc.)
o Ability to pull trailers safely and effectively
o Able to convey operational narratives both verbally and in written formats
o Able to coordinate 6-10 crew members according to their strength and ability
o Able to track progress and forecast needs to maintain a schedule
o Provide expertise as the onsite safety personnel for any project they are assigned
o Certifications
§ Maintain a good driving record, Allowing Panel Masters to pull MVR annually
§ Maintain a current certification in first aid/CPR
§ Attend continuing education classes in safety and best practice.
o Communication
§ Must communicate effectively in English.
§ Must communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking employees.
§ Daily logs, to be filled out daily and with proper details to allow reference after the project is complete.
§ Timesheets including proper coding of performed tasks filled out daily
§ Inform Director and/or HR of any discipline issues or advanced training issues for crew members
- Skill and knowledge levels adequate to ensure quality product and teach/train crew members
o Operating all power and hand tools safely
o Reading design drawings, form shops, rebar shops, & steel shops
o Layout using transits, builder's levels, lasers, chalk lines, et al
o Operating equipment, including skid steer, compactor, air compressor, forklift, boom lifts, and scissor lifts.
- Coordinate with Director and work under the supervision of the Director
o Assist in outlining and establishing project schedules, and maintain them once they are established
o Serve as the on-site representative for Panel Masters, Inc. including attending job site coordination meetings in the Director’s absence
o Provide pour dates that are reasonable and appropriate for the crew strength and capacity of the crew
o Locate and mobilize appropriate forms, equipment, and accessories
o Communicate with Director and suppliers for all orders and deliveries
o Maintain quality control and professional appearance of jobsite
- Leading of a crew
o Semiannual performance evaluations on crewmembers, and periodic update of skill assessment charts
o Work side by side in all activities with carpenters and laborers, modeling correct procedures in all tasks.
- Ensure PMI equipment is performing and properly cared for
o General maintenance of company truck, including scheduling repairs as needed and annual inspections
o General maintenance of powered machinery including rental equipment
Typical workweeks are Monday through Friday.
Make - up days on Saturday will be required when the weather prevents working a full 40 hour schedule.
Position is paid on a salary basis, with no extra pay for overtime.
