Maintenance Technician

Large Northbrook based automotive manufacturer specializing in CNC and multi-spindle precision machining is seeking an Experienced CNC Maintenance Technician.

The Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment. Performs routine facilities maintenance.

Duties

• Maintain plant machinery and equipment following a preventive maintenance schedule in order to keep equipment functioning at maximum efficiency and reliability
• Analyze and trouble-shoot equipment problems as they occur
• Make recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, safety, or communication
• Make enhancements to equipment in collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance and Production Managers
• Update equipment maintenance log promptly and accurately so records are complete and available for each piece of equipment
• Maintain tool room to ensure availability of tools, equipment and supplies necessary to perform maintenance functions
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including routine facilities maintenance. Does not get involved in plumbing or electrical work, but coordinates work by sub-contractors working closely with Maintenance Manager and Production Managers
• Follow all safety practices and immediately corrects or reports unsafe or hazardous conditions
  
  

Requirements

• 5 Years of CNC and manufacturing maintenance
• Proficient knowledge of Fanuc and Siemens Controls machinery and equipment maintenance
• Familiar with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) troubleshooting a plus
• Able to read and interpret maintenance schedules, technical drawings, machine schematics and troubleshooting manuals
• Understands the importance and is diligent with maintaining maintenance logs
• Able to climb ladders, stoops, bends and otherwise able to access all areas of machinery and equipment to perform maintenance
