Duties
- Operate the cash register and POS (Point of Sale) systems to process retail sales transactions swiftly and accurately
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed
- Handle cash drawer operations, including cash handling, balancing registers, and reconciling daily sales
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented to maximize merchandising efforts
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or assisting over the phone
- Support inventory management through stocking and merchandising activities, ensuring product knowledge is current for effective customer assistance
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in both English and bilingual settings if applicable
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, giving correct change, and managing cash registers accurately
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service with a friendly, positive attitude
- Experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math is highly desirable
- Supervising experience or familiarity with supervising team members is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves and merchandising effectively
