Role Description The Packaging Technician role at PanCann is a full-time, on-site position based in South River, NJ. This role is responsible for accurately packing and labeling cannabis products, following standard operating procedures and meeting daily production targets. Day-to-day tasks include operating basic packaging equipment, setting up workstations, monitoring product counts, and ensuring all items are sealed, labeled, and prepared for shipment in compliance with regulatory and company standards. The Packaging Technician inspects products and packaging for defects, reports issues, and supports basic troubleshooting of routine packaging problems. The role also involves maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area, completing required documentation, and communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on skills in packing and handling finished products with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Experience or aptitude in quality control, including visual inspection, adherence to specifications, and proper documentation of batches.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with production team members, leads, and supervisors.
- Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and address common packaging or labeling issues, escalating when necessary.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights of 50 lbs, and follow safety and sanitation procedures in a production setting.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, food production is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent and eligibility to work in a licensed cannabis facility under applicable state regulations.
