Job Summary:

The SAP Functional Engineer – FICO/PS supports the configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of SAP Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), and Project Systems (PS) modules to meet business needs in a high-volume lithium-ion battery manufacturing environment. This role works closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to analyze requirements, support system performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer participates in SAP implementation projects, assists in testing activities, and helps ensure process alignment across integrated modules. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA and a strong understanding of financial and project-related business processes.

 

Essential Duties:

 

SAP System Configuration & Support:

  • Configure and maintain SAP FICO and PS modules in accordance with business requirements
  • Support ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting activities
  • Perform basic system testing and support integration testing with other functional areas
  • Assist with system performance tuning and support package application as needed

Business Requirements & Process Analysis

  • Work with business users to gather and document requirements related to financial accounting, controlling, and project systems
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for system improvement and automation
  • Translate business needs into SAP functional specifications

Project & Change Management Support

  • Participate in small- to medium-scale SAP enhancement projects, system upgrades, and rollouts
  • Support functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment activities
  • Provide input into change requests, configuration documentation, and functional design documents

End-User Support & Training

  • Provide day-to-day support to end users and assist in resolving functional issues
  • Help create and maintain user documentation, training materials, and process guides
  • Deliver training or demonstrations on new functionality or system changes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with other SAP functional teams (e.g., (PTP, SCM, OTC, Plant Maintenance, Logistics)) to support end-to-end business process integration
  • Collaborate with SAP developers (ABAP) to support custom development and enhancements
  • Coordinate with business process owners and IT infrastructure teams as needed

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for our employees’ protection, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. A respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications

Requirements - Required and/or Preferred:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology, information systems management, or a related field
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Technology, Business Data Management, Information Systems Management, or a related field

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with SAP FICO and/or PS modules
  • Understanding of core financial business processes (e.g., GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cost Centers, Internal Orders, Project Accounting)
  • Experience supporting or participating in at least one full SAP implementation or major upgrade
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori applications or SAP Solution Manager
  • Understanding of integration with other SAP modules (PTP, SCM, OTC, Plant Maintenance, Logistics)
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance reporting in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, or project-based industries

Preferred Certification(s):

  • SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA for Financial Accounting Associates (preferred)
  • Additional SAP certifications in Controlling (CO) or Project Systems (PS)
  • CAPM or PMP certification
