Job Summary:
The Per Diem Cafeteria Assistant supports the daily operations of the school kitchen and lunchroom on an as-needed basis. This role ensures the smooth delivery of food services by assisting with meal preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized dining environment. The Cafeteria Assistant works collaboratively with the kitchen and lunchroom staff to provide a positive experience for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up and serving meals, ensuring adherence to food safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and lunchroom areas, including washing dishes, wiping surfaces, and disposing of waste.
- Monitor students during meal times to promote safety and proper behavior in the lunchroom.
- Stock and replenish supplies, such as utensils, trays, and condiments, as needed.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation procedures.
