What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant position at Pampered Pets Veterinary Clinic and Spa?
Come join our growing team! Kennel Attendants are responsible for proper husbandry care of all lodging animals, including feeding, bathing, record keeping and the cleanliness of kennels, runs, daycare and outside yards in the lodging area. In addition, Kennel Attendants are responsible for the cleanliness of the lodging area and common areas of the building.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Oversee and interact with dogs and cats of all sizes with comfort & confidence.

- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time and work in an environment with barking dogs.

- Receive animals being admitted to the facility and being responsible for their proper identification for recording their respective locations and temperaments.
- Release animals to their owners as directed; ensuring that every animal released is clean and properly groomed prior to their release.
- Has the ability to communicate with owners, making them feel comfortable with leaving their pet(s) in our care.
- Ability to follow a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing all kennels, runs, yards and related areas according to company guidelines; change litter boxes and food/water bowls.
- The ability to feed each animal what is prescribed by the owner and record of care.
- Understands the importance of prioritizing tasks and keeping oneself busy and productive during work shifts.
- Ability to maintain laundry for the lodging area.
- Maintains the grounds of the lodging area including waste disposal, light maintenance of landscape upkeep and general building maintenance.
- Can give baths when directed.
- Can give clinic and lodging tours while highlighting features that differentiate us from other kennels and clinics in our area.
- Can recognize and report any unusual condition or abnormal behavior.
- Clean equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies. Understands the importance of safety in the use of chemicals in our facility while following OSHA guidelines.
- Team oriented: Always willing to step up and step in to accomplish daily tasks and goals.
- Performing other duties as assigned, required.
