Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, effective training sessions utilizing positive reinforcement techniques to promote desirable behaviors.
- Assess each dog’s temperament, behavior, and training needs to tailor individualized training plans.
- Demonstrate proper handling, restraint, and care techniques to pet owners and staff to ensure safety and comfort during training.
- Educate pet owners on pet care, animal handling, pet grooming, and pet sitting best practices to foster responsible ownership.
- Maintain accurate records of training progress, behavioral assessments, and client interactions.
- Assist with kennel duties, including animal care, feeding, cleaning, and ensuring a safe environment for all animals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dog training with a strong understanding of positive behavior support strategies.
- Knowledge of animal handling, restraint techniques, and kennel management is preferred.
- Familiarity with classroom positive reinforcement methods and heavy lifting required for handling large or energetic dogs.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work outdoors or in various environments while maintaining a lively, energetic attitude.
