About Us:

Pampas Picnics Rentals | Event Design and Decor is an event design and decor serving the D.C. Metropolitan Area, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware. We provide bespoke clients with custom budget proposals and complimentary custom look books, utilizing our background in macro event and wedding planning across the D.C. Metro Area. Our team is dedicated to curating intimate luxe niche events and gatherings that are within reach.


We work for our clients' experiences to be (pampas) perfect, from start to finish. We know that experience starts early in the process as we try to offer as much information online with transparent pricing and expectations, and we’re here to answer questions for all of our clients to walk them through their unique concepts.


Role Description:

This is a role for our seasonal Special Events Interns! Our Special Events Interns will be responsible for assisting in various tasks associated with the daily niche event operations. This is a hybrid role, with primary virtual work such as fielding inquiries, building budget proposals, answering phone calls, and assisting with the administrative business hygiene during the week. In-person work will include: on-site events assistance, pre-event prep, and post-event wrap-up. This is a committed 6-month role, with opportunity to extend.


Our orientation period will occur from April through early May, where you have the opportunity to learn the in's and out's of the Pampas business model, and shadow for select events. Our season, alongside your 4-month internship period, begins when our season kicks off in May, through September.


Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for diligent special event interns to help with event design and event set-up for intimate events such as picnics in our local D.C. market that includes: Georgetown, Arlington, Alexandria, and Northern Virginia wineries, alongside local residences in Montgomery and Prince George's County, as well. This is position is ideal for someone who can work independently, with an eye for aesthetics, and an eagerness to grow and learn.


Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Canva, and Squarespace
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Event planning and event management skills
  • Ability to work in the elements (heat and rain)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Weekend Availability
  • Personable and accommodating attitude
  • Ability to be on-site 3-4 hours prior to events and/or 45-90 minutes after events
  • Ability to independently facilitate a setup and/or breakdown
  • Ability to log inventory for damages, replacements, fixes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in event planning or hospitality is a plus
  • Fine dining experience or knowledge
  • Open to opportunities to take on larger projects (weddings, baby showers, indoor events, etc.)
  • Motivation to learn and grow, and to be crafty, creative, and work with your hands
