Overview

The primary responsibilities of the President of Operations are to provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization's hospitals and related business enterprises, ensuring the effective management of operations, resources, and performance. The President of Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence, supporting growth initiatives, optimizing organizational efficiency, and achieving the Corporation's mission by delivering the highest quality services and exceptional outcomes across all areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

  • The President of Operations is responsible for the execution of corporate goals, strategic initiatives, and operational objectives across all assigned hospitals, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and long-term business strategy.
  • The President of Operations provides executive leadership and operational oversight to drive organizational performance, growth, quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and financial success throughout the enterprise.
  • The President of Operations develops and fosters collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, healthcare partners, regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and other key constituents to advance the organization's strategic priorities.
  • The President of Operations leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational programs, service lines, and care delivery models to optimize efficiency, quality, patient experience, and market growth.
  • The President of Operations partners with executive leadership to identify opportunities for expansion, operational excellence, and innovation across the organization.
  • The President of Operations reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the Corporation as established by the Board of Directors.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Education and Training:    Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or an appropriately related field required. Advanced leadership education, certifications, or executive development training preferred.

 

Experience:   

  • Ten (10) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including executive oversight of multi-hospital operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading operational performance, strategic growth initiatives, financial management, quality improvement, and physician alignment across complex healthcare organizations.
  • Experience in inpatient rehabilitation, long-term acute care, post-acute care, or related healthcare settings preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale organizational change and drive enterprise-wide operational excellence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence executive leadership, Board members, physicians, business partners, regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and the public.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level correspondence, strategic plans, business proposals, presentations, and organizational reports.
  • Advanced financial and analytical acumen with the ability to interpret operational metrics, financial statements, market trends, and performance data to inform decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align organizational priorities with long-term business objectives.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with the ability to navigate complex operational challenges and drive organizational performance.
  • Ability to lead and influence diverse teams across multiple locations while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain focus on organizational goals, and effectively respond to changing business needs in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, quality improvement methodologies, and performance management.
