What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Manager position at PALS Animal Shelter?
We are looking for an organized and dependable Office Assistant to help with administrative tasks at our non-profit animal shelter.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Answer inquiries from the public, over the counter, by email and telephone with friendly, detailed and service-oriented professional attitude.
· Willingness to learn adoption and registration systems which includes maintaining animal records and production of documents needed for adoptions and general shelter administration.
· Accept animals into shelter with proper protocols including paperwork, microchip scanning, and entering information into shelter management system.
· Transport animals to and from veterinarian appointments.
· Willingness to learn and abide by Shelter policies.
· Administer and document medication as directed.
· Monitor supplies, notifying appropriate people when supplies need to be ordered for shelter.
· Maintain records on pick-up and release dates, quarantines, adoptions and the status of the animals at the shelter.
· Finalize adoptions paperwork with customers in a professional manner.
· Collect adoption fees, monetary donations, product donations and process them according to shelter protocol.
· Assists volunteer staff when needed.
· Must be able to work in an environment with dogs and cats. (i.e. No allergy issues)
· Must be able to lift 20 lbs. and have valid Driver’s License
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Regular Attendance with the M-W-F: 7 a.m.-1 p.m. and T-TH: 7 a.m-12 p.m. shifts (total 30 hours per week)
· Microsoft Office (Word, Excel mainly)
· Google Gmail usage
· General Office skills and organization
· Attention to safe work practices.
· Effective written and verbal communication
