We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team and help support our growing portfolio of electrical construction projects throughout Washington.
Position Summary
The Safety Manager will work closely with operations and field personnel to implement and maintain the company’s safety and health programs. This position requires frequent field presence, collaboration with project teams, and the ability to build strong working relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable OSHA/WISHA regulations.
This position supports projects with federal contractual qualification requirements. Applicants must meet the required education and professional credential requirements at the time of hire.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Conduct field safety audits and inspections.
* Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
* Develop and maintain Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs).
* Ensure compliance with OSHA, WISHA, and customer safety requirements.
* Deliver employee safety orientations and ongoing training.
* Participate in project planning and hazard assessments.
* Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and daily pre-job briefings.
* Maintain required safety documentation and records.
* Support safety committee meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Travel to project sites throughout Washington as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Safety Engineering, Safety and Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or another closely related field acceptable under applicable project contract requirements.
* Current certification as one of the following:
* Registered Professional Safety Engineer (RPSE)
* Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
* Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
* Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
* Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
* Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
* Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
* Current First Aid/CPR certification.
* Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
* Willingness to travel throughout Washington as project needs require.
* Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in high-voltage transmission, distribution, substation, or underground electrical construction.
* Experience developing Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs).
* Knowledge of Washington State WISHA regulations and OSHA standards.
* Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
* Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills.
