Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced ER Manager to oversee the operations of our 7-bed emergency department. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in a rural setting. As the ER Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care, managing staff, and optimizing department workflows to ensure efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the emergency department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to all patients.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses and support staff.
- Develop and implement department policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the emergency department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
- Collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Manage department budgets, resources, and staffing levels to optimize efficiency and maintain a high standard of care.
- Ensure the availability of necessary equipment and supplies for the emergency department.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and high employee morale.
- Stay current with best practices in emergency medicine and integrate them into department protocols.
- Serve as a liaison between the emergency department and hospital administration, representing the interests and needs of the department.
Current and unrestricted RN license in California
Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related healthcare field required, Masters preferred
ACLS, BLS, PALS and TNCC certifications required
NIHSS certification preferred
Minimum of 3 years leadership experience, minimum 5 years' experience as an ED RN/staff
Cerner experience preferred
