About the Role:
As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Palo Pinto Women's Health Clinic, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within a specialized women's health practice. Your primary focus will be to support physicians and healthcare teams by providing direct nursing care, monitoring patient conditions, and assisting with diagnostic and treatment procedures. You will ensure patient comfort and safety while educating patients about their health conditions and treatment plans. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong clinical skills, and compassionate communication to enhance patient outcomes. Ultimately, your contributions will help maintain the clinic’s reputation for excellence in urological healthcare services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of Vocational Nursing School and licensed to practice in the State of Texas
- Current Texas Driver's License and vehicle liability insurance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, patient care techniques, and medical terminology.
- Willingness to float to other clinics as requested.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year experience working in a urology practice or related specialty.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly those used in outpatient clinics.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of the physician, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Assist urologist during diagnostic tests and minor surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready and sterile.
- Obtains medical history of the patient.
- Returns phone calls as needed in a professional, timely manner.
- Applies or changes dressings as needed and instructed.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team promptly.
- Educate patients and their families on post-treatment care, medication management, and lifestyle modifications related to urological health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and clinic policies.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to facilitate comprehensive patient care and follow-up appointments.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards within the clinical environment.

Skills:
The LVN will utilize clinical nursing skills daily to assess patient conditions, administer treatments, and assist with procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Strong communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare staff to deliver coordinated care. Proficiency with electronic health records enables accurate documentation and efficient information sharing. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills help in recognizing changes in patient status and responding appropriately. Additionally, organizational skills are important to manage patient flow and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and clinic protocols.
Monday-Friday 8 AM- 5 PM.
This is a FT position eligible for overtime, if applicable.
