What are the responsibilities and job description for the Campus Supervisor Elementary position at Palo Alto Unified School District?
DEFINITION
Under direction of school assistant principal, to perform a variety of duties associated with supervision of students on campus; and to do related work as directed or required.
TYPICAL TASKS
• supervise and patrol student parking lot by controlling speed of cars, loitering in cars, unauthorized cars on campus and proper parking of cars;
• patrol areas such as auditorium, gym, locker room, rest rooms in an attempt to stop smoking and vandalism in these areas;
• assist in supervising student activity areas and library during lunch period;
• assist in general supervision of campus as directed by assistant principal;
• assist in afternoon bus loading as needed.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
• any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of twelfth grade and experience with students is desirable;
• demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and students;
• skill in motivating, encouraging and assisting students;
• analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action;
• establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work;
• meet mental requirements for this position;
• meet physical characteristics in compliance with American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
