Position Overview
Palo Alto County Health System (PACHS) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care to residents in our long-term care facilities at PARC Hall and Willow Ridge. This role involves coordinating nursing care, educating residents and families, and leading the care team to maintain professional nursing standards in a supportive and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess resident conditions and initiate appropriate nursing actions.
- Administer resident education and support restorative care goals.
- Supervise nurse aides to ensure quality care and adherence to care plans.
- Receive and transcribe physician orders accurately.
- Administer medications and specialized therapies, documenting reactions and outcomes.
- Recognize and respond to potential health concerns.
- Maintain a safe, supportive physical and psychosocial environment for residents.
- Document resident conditions, treatments, and procedures in medical records.
- Ensure adequate supplies for ongoing resident care.
- Implement individualized care plans and infection control protocols.
- Uphold the Resident Bill of Rights and promote dignity and respect.
- Adapt to evolving healthcare technologies and processes.
- Maintain active logins/passwords for required software systems.
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership.
Requirements
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Iowa RN license.
Certifications:
- Current CPR certification.
- Must pass medication administration test within two weeks of hire.
Skills:
