What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van Driver position at Palmyra Eagle School District?
Job Description:
- Pick up and discharge authorized students only at authorized stops.
- Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school vehicles and traffic laws.
- Maintain discipline of students and report discipline issues to supervisor. Adhere to the assigned time schedules.
- Attend safety meetings to keep up with current laws.
- Report all accidents, vehicle defects, and any hazardous road conditions to the transportation supervisor.
- Maintain a clean vehicle inside and out.
- Must follow District rules, procedures, and policies.
The hours will be variable (approximately 5 hours per day) depending on the number of students and their transportation needs. The actual students who are in need of transportation will change throughout the year.
Qualifications:
- Person hired must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's license.
- A responsible driving record is required.
- Ability to maintain student discipline, as defined by District Policy, while in the vehicle.
- Interpersonal skills to deal courteously, cooperatively and effectively with students, teachers, administrators, co-workers and the public.
