The Palmyra Area School District is seeking an Elementary Special Education Consultant (K-5) will provide guidance, support, and professional development to strengthen our overall K12 special education programs across the district. This position will support both Lingle Avenue Elementary and Pine Street Elementary. This Special Education Consultant must demonstrate expertise in special education curriculum, instructional strategies, and behavior management. This role requires experience collaborating with students, families, and staff, along with strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
In addition, the successful candidate will manage and refine IEP goals and strategies, provide coaching, assist in developing effective behavior plans, and work closely with the administrative team to enhance special education programs across the district.

Qualifications
- Instructional I/II Special Education PK-8 (9226), PA Instructional I/II Special Education PK-12 (9225) Certificate, PA Instructional I/II Special Education N-12 Certificate, Instructional I/II Mental and/or Physically Handicapped K-12 (9235), Instructional I/II Mentally Retarded K-12, Instructional I/II Socially and Emotionally Disturbed K-12, or Instructional I/II Emotional Disturbed K-12 certificate required.
- Supervisory Special Education PK-12 (9215) certification is preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience is required.
- In-depth expertise in specially designed instruction, the MDE process, and IEP meeting facilitation is essential, along with proficiency in applying Common Core Standards and implementing differentiated instruction is required.
