JOB SUMMARY:
The Bartender will prepare beverages according to the resort’s set standards; ensure guest satisfaction through professional and courteous service. Keep the bar counter and work area neat and clean at all times. Adhere to local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards, local policies and procedures, and adhering to the hotels’ sustainability guidelines.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dispense drinks including cocktails and mocktails in accordance with the standard recipe.
- Ensures high standard of sanitation and hygiene in the work area.
- Maintains high standard of personal appearance and personal hygiene at all times.
- Check and oversee the wines storage, conditions, stock levels at the bar and beverage storeroom.
- Ensures wines are stocked and stored in proper temperatures and correct manner.
- Perform cashiering tasks according to the set standards.
- Ensures security of beverage stocks in bars by observing control and inventory procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness of various bar areas
- Check and oversee accuracy of stocks acquired vs. requisitions.
- Cleans the bar and prepares garnishes including essential equipment.
- Constantly review standard recipes and operating procedure
- Constantly man his/her area and make conscious efforts to ensure that the bar is always ready to serve incoming guests and that no guests are left unattended.
- Ensures that all guest orders and related requests are carried out
- Serve customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- In the absence of guests, maximize his/ her work shift by consciously finding activities that will help maintain the standards of the bar, ensure guest satisfaction and help upkeep the hygiene and general look of the bar.
- Attend to timely customer complaints and report any to his immediate superior.
- Adhere the resort’s personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Carry out other tasks and special projects as assigned by department lead.
- Ensure that reports and administration requirements are timely submitted such as inventory sheets and breakage reports.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Regularly participate with on-the-job trainings as conducted by his/ her superior or trainer, as well as recycling, water and energy conservation practices.
- To handle side duties as assigned by his/ her superiors on a daily basis.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to customer complaints and special requests
- Participate in general cleaning projects as required
- Maintain highest level of customer service and guest satisfaction, according to the standards set forth by The Palms Hotel and Spa
- Perform duties of bartending positions as necessary
- Attend all staff meetings/trainings related to F&B
- Ensure compliance with health and sanitation policies in all areas
- Adhere to all fire, safety, and security procedures according to hotel policy
- Adhere to all sustainability guidelines as per the Inspired by Nature Program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Previous experience as a bartender of a food and beverage establishment.
- The ability to anticipate customer needs and multitask.
- Working knowledge of Food and Beverage service policies and procedures.
- Effectively interact with guests and all levels of management, associates and clientele, both inside and outside the organization.
- Self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Familiarity with the POS system
- Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail.
- Must have flexible availability.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School or Vocational Certificate in Hotel Management, Food & Beverage, or related field.
WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- There may be regular exposure to mild discomfort from factors such as dust, odors, extreme temperature, inclement weather, noise, or lights.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to walk, stand and sit. The associate will occasionally be required to climb and use balance. Additionally, the team member will frequently be asked to use hands and arms carry and lift items. Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision and distance vision. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member may experience temperature fluctuations and moderate to high levels of noise. The team member will also come in contact with noxious and abrasive chemicals that must be handled properly to ensure the safety of the team member and others.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member must be able to lift unassisted 40 lbs.
